My Favorites!

Alright, my friends, I’ve done it! I’ve finally created a list of some of my favorite things I’ve used to help myself build and grow my business, cultivate happiness, and truly enjoy my life. These are the things that I and am always recommending to friends, family, and even my clients. This list includes everything from technology and tools to resources and programs. Things from mom life and even onto my favorite Beauty products (which I love so much I actually sell).

Legitimately, these are my favorite things.

Full Disclosure: Some of these links are affiliate links. This means when you click the link and then purchase something, I may receive a commission for referring it to you. Real talk, these are all things I LOVE and would share with you even without the affiliate link, but as the semi-savvy businesswoman I am, I use affiliate links when I can.

My Favorite Tech, Tools and Platforms

Kajabi

You all know I build courses and websites, right? To date, I’ve created online courses on at least ten different platforms. And, although my perspective is a bit unique, I believe “the best platform” for a course (or anything really) may be different for each of us. It should be determined by taking your budget, your needs, your goals, tech requirements/necessary integrations, and the long-term management all into consideration.

That said, it’s SUPER easy to end up with an overcomplicated mish-mash of integrations and plugins that never play nicely together. For anyone looking to build and grow a small business, this can be daunting. My goal when I support you is to keep it simple, efficient, budget-friendly, and effective. Whenever possible, I want to avoid you having to maintain dozens of logins that you can’t keep track of and being forced to troubleshoot by calling at least three different support lines if anything goes wrong. This is why I love Kajabi. It’s the closest thing to an all-in-one that I’ve found for online courses, memberships, and programs. The websites and landing pages are customizable enough that you can make them attractive, reflect your brand, and make an impact. The course content is delivered effectively with best practices in mind, AND the email platform works well enough to use it for broadcasts and simple automation. The best part (in my opinion) is that you also can seamlessly integrate the checkout process for anything, AND it’s simple enough that with a slight learning curve, the everyday business owner can even figure it out!

Squarespace

Similar to course platforms, I don’t believe there is only one option for websites. The right platform should depend on your needs, budget, necessary integrations, and long-term needs. I always ask clients who will be managing the site day-to-day and how comfortable are they learning new platforms? Why does this matter? Well, if you happen to be very tech-savvy or plan to have an outside agency manage your website, a platform that requires regular updates, site maintenance, and integration with other tech platforms/plugins may be manageable. But if you are just starting out, want to manage your site yourself, and don’t want a steep learning curve on the tech side, Squarespace is the way to go.

This platform is ideal for creating a beautiful, effective, and manageable website representing your brand and business while making an impact. With a bit of a learning curve for anyone unfamiliar with web development, I encourage you to work with someone who knows what they’re doing to bring your website to life, but the backend is simple enough to learn how to make updates needed. A bonus they have options for e-commerce etc., and are consistently updating to improve and keep their platform performing at its best.

Business Resources

Coaches & Company

As business owners, we want to be confident that we are doing what’s best for ourselves and our business long term. This is why when I work with clients; I always tell them it’s a good idea to check off all the necessary boxes to ensure your biz is legit on the legal front. This includes privacy policy and terms & conditions for a website and agreements in place for 1:1, courses, programs, and even partnerships.

Of course, I am not a lawyer, so I can only pass on a recommendation to these awesome DIY templates I ended up switching to this past year. They were 10x better than my previous ones as they actually make sense and allow you to set it up, so it really supports your offer in the right ways. I liked them so much I became an affiliate so I could pass them on to people rather than just give them a blanket statement of “you should get legal agreements in place.”

My Favorite Courses & Programs

The Certificate in Wholebeing Positive Psychology

If you know me at all, you know my coaching practice, and my life is strongly rooted in positive psychology. The foundation was created through 6-years of working with Wholebeing Institute.

For those looking for a truly life-changing experience that is grounded in science and supports an increased capacity for health, strengthened resilience, deeper mindfulness, and greater levels of overall well-being — this program is for you.

This organization and program is a huge part of my story–it’s where I learned that well-being is more than just a physical experience, that we can all cultivate a greater sense of happiness, resilience, and fulfillment. It taught me the science of whole-person well-being and the tools and practices I could tap into to cultivate it for myself and those around me. It introduced me to the world of coaching and the idea that I could create my own path that supported my version of success and my best life.

Here’s some love from my clients:

I had no clue as to how to create an online presence. I didn’t consider myself a good writer and marketing felt overwhelming. Megan helped me take the fear away from writing and with gentle guidance and great knowledge helped me launch a very successful online program.

My business now has traction, and I can see a positive successful future because Megan has my back. She is 100% as invested in my success, as I am!

Because of Megan I have more confidence, clear direction (given today’s global adversities), and feel so supported in all ways!

Izzy Lenihan, Life, Career & Wellness Coach

Megan brings her heart, her wisdom, her skills and strategies to set you up for success. As a new entrepreneur, many fears can creep up as you start stepping into something new. Megan has been instrumental in coaching me into a better business mindset and keeping me connected to my vision for myself throughout this process. She is a wealth of knowledge and sets you set up for success with strategies and tools that she has honed from her many years of experience working with coaches. Megan shared once that only 25% of those who set out to be a coach make it, and I can see why; Without having Megan to coach me, I know I would not made it through the launch of my business online. I am so grateful I said yes to myself and chose to have guide me.

Kate Lally, Spiritual Life Coach

Megan appeared just at the right time for me. I was in the process of creating online products that would allow me to reach more women online. Working Megan made the process painless, as she helped me choose the right platform to host my self-study, and implement my ideas. I love how she is able to help put your ideas into a format that is easy to digest. It made the process go so much faster and I really cannot recommend enough.

Folake Bee Teacher, Mentor, Healer

“As a solo business owner, it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed, and not just with long to-do lists, but with how-to-do lists. Meg is a compassionate and kind guide through both challenging technical questions and strategic planning. She is a bright, insightful light, and not afraid to give me a firm nudge when needed. Over and over she gets me back on track when I go off the rails into overwhelm or procrastination. She’s helped me accomplish so much in just a few months, including multiple online program launches and a greater sense of my own brand voice.”
